Overcoming inertia
Season 7 Episode 3 | Posted: Tue, Apr 07, 2026 approx. 1 min read
Experimenting with starting the week with weeknotes, perhaps as a momentum bump into the coming week. I say experimenting, it’s just this one. Easing back in by talking about stuff I’ve consumed.
I finished a really interesting book this week - ‘Every Living Thing’ by Jason Roberts. A biography of Linneaus and De Buffon, that ranged much wider than just biographical details, though it was great on the widely different outlooks and characters. I found myself relating so much back to my enjoyment of classifying and categorizing. Would recommend.
Things I’ve read from links I’ve saved. even though I acknowledge the sisyphean nature of saving links that doesn’t stop we doing it. And now I’m adding to the problem by sharing more.
- The missing bar, why we need X-shaped people in a digital world
- ‘Fracture’ serialisation part 1 – New tech observations from the UK
- Umberto Eco’s The Open Work: Summary and Critical Analysis
- Generalist World
- The treadmill got faster
On the subject of the endless nature of it all, The Last Quiet Thing by Terry Godier was a lovely find on Bluesky - well worth your time.
